I am an Emcee/Music Composer from Southeast San Diego, California…Music is my Passion.

When I was 10 years old, my mother would play music and sing with purpose as we went here and there in her black Honda Prelude. She would go on these musical binges, some lasting for years, on different artist. Most notably Prince (or The Artist Formally Known As), Anita Baker, Whitney Houston, Chaka Khan, her favorite person in the world Tupac Shakur, and many more.

So one day, we are on our way to where ever and she had some new music. To my surprise, instead of just putting it on and annoyingly asking me “Whatcha know bout that, man?” in the loudest tone possible, she simply told me to pay close attention because “This dude is going to blow up like an atom bomb, Joey, do you hear me?” she said, still in the loudest possible tone. Then she put the CD in and out came the sounds of Jay-Z. 1996 was the year Jay Z presented the world with “Reasonable Doubt” and my mom loved it. To make a long story short, that was the day I fell in love with Hip Hop. Seeing the way my mother reacted to Tupac Shakur and now, Jay Z…I knew then and there that I would always be an Emcee.

So I quit my job as a commercial truck driver recently and have decided to pursue my music full-time. I have spent countless hours since that day in ‘96 sharpening my vocabulary, learning to produce my own music, learning graphic design, mixing, and much more so I can be a self sufficient artist and not have to chase a record deal and just sell my music quietly and independent of outside influence. I’d also like to point out that I, unlike so many, had enough respect for the CULTURE of HIP HOP to study its history and traditions. I love Hip Hop…I love music…I love making music, and I would be eternally grateful if you would help me do just that.
